What is the Duo Coronet™?
The Well Red Duo Coronet™ is the most effective, powerful and comfortable red and near infrared light helmet available.
At only 150 grams (5.3 ounces), it is very lightweight, which makes it very comfortable to wear. It is designed to fit your head shape, so you don’t have to worry about your head being too big or too small. You can adjust the fitting to suit your own head.
The new Coronet™ model 9 has 20% higher near infra-red power , while also running cooler than previous models.
It is optimised for use with the intra-nasal CoroNase™ and the new CoronEar™ in-ear red light device.
When both of these are used with the Coronet 9, it is the only Tri-mode™ transcranial system in the world, supplying the optimum dose of red and infra-red light to all areas of the brain simultaneously.

Each of the eight spokes has two rows of LEDs. One row is visible red at 670nm, and the other is near infrared at 810nm. In total, there are eighty-eight bespoke and individual LEDs, forty of the 670nm deep red wavelength and forty-eight of the 810 nm near infra-red wavelength. This ensures even, high-powered light coverage all over the head. It is the most powerful device available.
The Duo Coronet is set up with 12 minutes of deep red 670nm followed by 12 minutes of near infrared 810nm. At the end of the 24 minutes, it turns itself off.
The eighty LEDs are all pulsed at 40Hz, which helps them penetrate the brain. Research has also shown that 40Hz stimulation on its own improves brain health. Combining 40Hz pulsing with the most effective neurodegeneration and neuro-inflammation wavelength adds another layer of therapeutic value.
The Duo Coronet comes with a standard 24-minute session, which we recommend for people with conditions like Parkinson’s and related diseases, the various kinds of dementias and for depression and anxiety. We also recommend this setting for people wanting to improve sleep quality and cognitive function.
For best results, the Coronet should be used in conjunction with the TheraPad, which should be laid on the abdomen, set to the highest power, thereby stimulating the gut biome. For more information, see here.
There are health conditions that respond to different settings. We have a solution for this. The Duo Coronet can be configured with different powers, duty cycles, duration and pulse rates. Changes are made through the Well Red Companion Android app, available for free on the Google Play store. We can provide codes to make settings changes, and when things are complicated, we work with you to ensure the appropriate setting.

The Duo Coronet is made from aluminium into which high-quality, high-efficiency bespoke individual LED lights are soldered and controlled through firmware in the micro-controller that is built into the frame.

Visible red 670nm and near infrared 810nm shone in sequence have been shown to have the best effect on the cells in the brain. The visible red 670nm is particularly important, as it is a wavelength used by cells to communicate with each other. Cells have the apparatus to both emit and receive faint light pulses, called biophotons. It is thought that 670nm biophotons are sent by healthy cells to ailing cells to assist ailing cells function better. 670nm biophotons are strongly associated with cell health, and the Duo Coronet taps into this pre-existing cellular medical system.
Near infrared 810nm has the best penetration profile, and gets deeper into the brain. It is still effective in stimulating the cells that the 670nm light cannot reach. Learn how red and near infrared lights work.

Following our easy instructions, you can ease the Duo Coronet arms to fit your individual head shape. This is a critical feature, as the range of head shapes and sizes is infinite. People who have had a stroke or traumatic brain injury which affects speech respond much better if they have lights shone only on the left side of their head, which houses the main speech area. The Duo Coronet can be set to shine lights only on the left side. Or the right side for that matter.
There are other situations in which just using visible red 670nm on its own is more helpful than using two wavelengths in sequence. This includes people struggling with Chronic Fatigue/Myalgic Encephalitis, Multiple Sclerosis, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and Huntington’s disease.
Children with autism, seizures, ADHD, anxiety and depression respond well to the Duo Coronet, but the light dose needs to be made much less powerful and run for a much shorter duration.

Pause and Resume:
There are times when you will want to pause the Coronet session. Simply give the button in the centre – where the right spoke meets the central circle – a short press. View image.
To resume the Coronet session, give the button another short press.
Halve the light power:
The Pause and Resume button can also be used to reduce the intensity of both wavelengths to half power.
To do this, hold the button down for at least 4 seconds. This change will only last for the duration of the current session.
To return to normal intensity, repeat this operation or restart the session.
