Curing the duck

Thanks to Sonya, a Duo Coronet user, for this wonderful story.

Sonya lives on a property in southern Tasmania and when she’s not doing amazing things in her extensive garden, she enjoys the company of her ducks. One duck was lame from duckling-hood. The vet had suggested that he should be put down, but Sonya didn’t have the heart as he was such a friendly little chap. He couldn’t walk or swim properly, but he got around, hence his name, Stumblebum.

Out of curiosity, Sonya wrapped the TheraPad around Stumblebum, and she started to see improvements.

After three weeks of daily TheraPad treatment, Stumblebum walked two metres - the longest walk yet - and was able to swim for 20 minutes before his leg tired and he went under. He used to last only one minute in the water.

I was really surprised that he would cope with being wrapped in a light mat, but Sonya says that he adjusts himself when he sees the TheraPad, he pops his sore leg down and relaxes himself in readiness to be wrapped in warmth.

Stumblebum’s brother had nearly drowned. When Sonya pulled him out of the water. she didn’t expect him to survive but just in case, she gave him a warm shower, a blow dry, wrapped him in the TheraPad and gave him light. After a few hours, he responded, and within four days he was back out with the flock and fully recovered.

So if you have a lame or near-drowned duck, we can recommend the TheraPad. Your duck will love it.
